Jan Hajič is a digital humanities research associate at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University.
He works with manuscript data primarily in computational musicology: one of his research directions is optical music recognition, and another is the biogeography of Gregorian chant melodies.
He heads the Prague Music Computing Group, as PI of the OmniOMR project by the Czech Ministry of Culture and Co-I of the international project Digital Analysis of Chant Transmission of the Canadian SSHRC, and teaches computational music processing.
