Nikola Macháčková

I studied at the Faculty of Humanities during my undergraduate studies in Prague, where I first became interested in Icelandic literature. Afterward, I moved to Iceland to study Icelandic. I later completed a master’s degree in Medieval Icelandic Studies, with my thesis focusing on a palaeographical analysis of scribal hands in a 15th-century manuscript.

Currently, I’m finishing my doctoral degree at the University of Iceland in Icelandic literature and manuscripts, with my dissertation focusing on a 17th-century adaptation of a medieval Icelandic saga.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, doing yoga, and hiking in the mountains.
